We received an approval of the ethical committee for following tasks within the project, where amongst others TUD researchers are involved. All work conducted will also underlie the guidance of the ethical handbook (D1.1), including the participants consent forms and privacy and security regulations. The following empirical research is planned:

  • Interviews (face-to-face or via telecommunication technology) with aid workers with
    experience in humanitarian aid work in the middle east, to be conducted in Europe, Jordan
    and Lebanon within and outside of exercises
  • Participation in and observations of large-scale demonstration and training exercises of crisis
    situations for humanitarian aid workers, developed and carried out outside of iTRACK (e.g.
    triplex exercise, Norway)
  • Participation in an ethics and privacy impact assessment workshop
  • Participation in and observations of simulation gaming sessions developed within iTRACK:
    • Workshops, including briefing, board game play, de-briefing, questionnaires, and interviews, for requirements and policy analyses in relation to the development of the iTRACK system
    • Workshops, including briefing, pc-based virtual game play, de-briefing, questionnaires, and interviews, for prototype testing of the iTRACK system
    • Final demonstration, including briefing, large scale enhanced reality game play, debriefing,
      questionnaires, and interviews, for prototype testing of the iTRACK syste
